Call to Worship

Psalm 40:1-3 (ESV)

I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry.  He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.  He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God.  Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord.  Blessed is the man who makes the Lord his trust, who does not turn to the proud, to those who go astray after a lie!

Come Ye Sinners

(listen here)

Come, ye sinners, poor and wretched, weak and wounded, sick and sore
Jesus ready stands to save you, full of pity joined with power
He is able, He is able, He is willing, doubt no more.

Come, ye needy, come and welcome God's free bounty glorify
True belief and true repentance, every grace that brings you nigh
Without money, without money come to Jesus Christ and buy.

Come, ye weary, heavy laden, bruised and broken by the fall
If you tarry till you're better you will never come at all
Not the righteous, not the righteous, sinners Jesus came to call.

Let not conscience make you linger, nor of fitness fondly dream
All the fitness He requires is to feel your need of Him
This He gives you, this He gives you, 'tis the Spirit's rising beam.

Lo, the Incarnate God ascended, pleads the merit of His blood
Venture on Him, venture wholly, let no other trust intrude
None but Jesus, none but Jesus can do helpless sinners good.

My Soul Finds Rest in God Alone

(listen here)

My soul finds rest in God alone, my rock and my salvation
A fortress strong against my foes, and I will not be shaken
Though lips may bless and hearts may curse, and lies like arrows pierce me
I'll fix my heart on righteousness, I'll look to Him who hears me

O praise Him, hallelujah, my Delight and my Reward
Everlasting, never failing, my Redeemer, my God

Find rest my soul in God alone, amid the world's temptations
When evil seeks to take a hold, I'll cling to my salvation
Though riches come and riches go, don't set your heart upon them
The fields of hope in which I sow, are harvested in heaven

O praise Him, hallelujah, my Delight and my Reward
Everlasting, never failing, my Redeemer, my God

I'll set my gaze on God alone, and trust in Him completely
With ev'ry day pour out my soul, and He will prove His mercy
Though life is but a fleeting breath, a sigh too brief to measure
My King has crushed the curse of death, and I am His forever

O praise Him, hallelujah, my Delight and my Reward
Everlasting, never failing, my Redeemer, my God

God Moves in a Mysterious Way

(listen here)

God moves in a mysterious way His wonders to perform;
He plants His footsteps in the sea and rides upon the storm.
You fearful saints, fresh courage take: the clouds you so much dread
are big with mercy, and shall break in blessings on your head.

O, bless the Lord with heart and soul, let all within me sing
And trust the wisdom of my God, my Father, Lord, my King.

With deepest wisdom, highest love, and never failing skill
He masterminds His bright designs and works His sovereign will.
His purposes will ripen fast, unfolding every hour;
The bud may have a bitter taste, but sweet will be the flower.

O, bless the Lord with heart and soul, let all within me sing
And trust the purpose of my God, my Father, Lord, my King.

Blind unbelief is sure to err and scan His work in vain;
God is His own interpreter, and He will make it plain.
Judge not the Lord by feeble sense, but trust Him for His grace;
Behind a frowning providence he hides a smiling face.

O, bless the Lord with heart and soul, let all within me sing
And trust the goodness of my God, my Father, Lord, my King.

Every Promise

(listen here)

From the breaking of the dawn
To the setting of the sun
I will stand on ev'ry promise of Your word
Words of power strong to save
That will never pass away
I will stand on ev'ry promise of Your word
For Your covenant is sure
And on this I am secure
I can stand on ev'ry promise from Your word

When I stumble and I sin
Condemnation pressing in
I will stand on every promise of Your word
You are faithful to forgive
That in freedom I might live
So I stand on every promise of Your word
Guilt to innocence restored
You remember sins no more
So I'll stand on every promise of Your word

When I'm faced with anguished choice
I will listen for Your voice
And I'll stand on every promise of Your word
Through this dark and troubled land
You will guide me with Your hand
As I stand on every promise of Your word
And You've promised to complete
Every work begun in me
So I'll stand on every promise of Your word

Hope that lifts me from despair
Love that casts out every fear
As I stand on every promise of Your word
Not forsaken not alone
For the Comforter has come
And I stand on every promise of Your word
Grace sufficient grace for me
Grace for all who will believe
We will stand on every promise of Your word
