Call to Worship

Exodus 15:1-2 (ESV)

I will sing to the Lord, for he has triumphed gloriously; the horse and his rider he has thrown into the sea. The Lord is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this I my God, and I will praise him, my father’s God, and I will exalt him.

Jesus Lover of My Soul

Jesus, lover of my soul, let me to Thy bosom fly

While the nearer waters roll, while the tempest still is high

Hide me, O my Savior, hide, ’til life’s storm is past;

Safe into the haven guide; receive my soul at last.

Other refuge have I none, I helpless hang on Thee

Leave, ah, leave me not alone, still support and comfort me.

All my trust on Thee is stayed, help from Thee I bring

Cover my defenseless head in the shadow of Thy wing

Thou, O Christ, are all I want, more than all in Thee I find

Raise the fallen, cheer the faint, heal the sick and lead the blind

Just and holy is Thy Name, I am all unrighteousness

False and full of sin I am; Thou art full of truth and grace.

Plenteous grace with Thee is found, grace to cover all my sin;

Let the healing streams abound; make and keep me pure within

Thou of life, the fountain art, let me take of Thee

Spring Thou up within my heart: to all eternity.

Worshiping God by Proclaiming Our Hope

Romans 8:31-39 (ESV)

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own song but game him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? Who shall bring any change against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died- more than that who was raised – who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written, ‘For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.’ No in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Whom Shall I Fear

You hear me when I call

You are my morning song

Though darkness fills the night

It cannot hide the light

Whom shall I fear?

You crush the enemy underneath my feet

You are my sword and shield

Though troubles linger still

Whom shall I fear?

I know Who goes before me

I know Who stands behind

The God of angel armies is always by my side

The One who reigns forever

He is a friend of mine

The God of angel armies is always by my side

My strength is in Your name

For You alone can save

You will deliver me

Yours is the victory

Whom shall I fear?

Whom shall I fear?

I know Who goes before me

I know Who stands behind

The God of angel armies is always by my side

The One who reigns forever

He is a friend of mine

The God of angel armies is always by my side

And nothing formed against me shall stand

You hold the whole world in Your hands

I'm holding on to Your promises

You are faithful

You are faithful

I know Who goes before me

I know Who stands behind

The God of angel armies is always by my side

The One who reigns forever

He is a friend of mine

The God of angel armies is always by my side

Sermon: If Not for the Lord

If it had not been the LORD who was on our side—let Israel now say—if it had not been the LORD who was on our side when people rose up against us, then they would have swallowed us up alive, when their anger was kindled against us; then the flood would have swept us away, the torrent would have gone over us; then over us would have gone the raging waters.

Blessed be the LORD, who has not given us as prey to their teeth! We have escaped like a bird from the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we have escaped! Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.

O Love That Will Not Let Me Go

O Love that will not let me go,

I rest my weary soul in Thee;

I give Thee back the life I owe

That in Thine ocean’s depths its flow

May richer, fuller be.

O Light that followest all my way

I yield my flickering torch to Thee,

My heart restores its borrowed ray

That in Thy sunshine’s blaze its day

May brighter, fairer be.

O Joy that seekest me through pain,

I cannot close my heart to Thee;

I trace the rainbow through the rain

And feel the promise is not vain

That morn shall tearless be

O Cross that liftest up my head

I dare not ask to fly from Thee

I lay in dust life’s glory dead,

And from the ground there blossoms red

Life that shall endless be
