Call to Worship
Psalm 96:7-10(ESV)
Ascribe to the LORD, O families of the peoples, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength! Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; bring an offering, and come into his courts! Worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness; tremble before him, all the earth! Say among the nations, “The LORD reigns! Yes, the world is established; it shall never be moved; he will judge the peoples with equity.”

Angels, From the Realm of Glory
Angels, from the realms of glory, wing your flight o'er all the earth;
ye who sang creation's story, now proclaim Messiah's birth:
Come and worship, come and worship
Worship Christ the newborn King
Shepherds in the field abiding, watching o'er your flocks by night,
God with man is now residing, yonder shines the infant Light:
Come and worship, come and worship
Worship Christ the newborn King
Sages, leave your contemplations, brighter visions beam afar:
Seek the great Desire of nations: ye have seen his natal star:
Come and worship, come and worship
Worship Christ the newborn King
Saints before the altar bending, watching long in hope and fear, suddenly the Lord descending, in his temple shall appear:
Come and worship, come and worship
Worship Christ the newborn King
All creation, join in praising God the Father, Spirit, Son:
Evermore your voices raising to the eternal Three in One:
Come and worship, come and worship
Worship Christ the newborn King

Worshiping God by Confessing Our Faith
Nicene Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty,
Maker of heaven and earth;
and of all things visible and invisible.
And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God,
begotten of his Father before all worlds:
God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God,
begotten, not made; being of one substance with the Father,
by whom all things were made:
Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven,
and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the virgin Mary,
and was made man;
and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate.
He suffered and was buried;
and the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures,
and ascended into heaven,
and sits on the right hand of the Father.
And he shall come again with glory
to judge both the living and the dead
whose kingdom shall have no end.
And I believe in the Holy Spirit,
The Lord, and Giver of Life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son,
who with the Father and the Son
together is worshipped and glorified;
who spoke by the prophets.
And I believe in one holy catholic and apostolic Church.
I acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
And I look for the resurrection of the dead
and the life of the world to come.
Amen.

What Child is This
What child is this, who, laid to rest,
on Mary’s lap is sleeping?
Whom angels greet with anthems sweet,
while shepherds watch are keeping?
This, this is Christ the King,
whom shepherds guard and angels sing:
Haste, haste to bring him laud,
the babe, the son of Mary.
Why lies he in such mean estate,
where ox and lamb are feeding?
Good Christian, fear; for sinners here
the silent Word is pleading.
Nails, spear, shall pierce him through;
the cross be borne for me, for you.
Hail, hail, the Word made flesh,
the babe, the son of Mary.
So bring him incense, gold, and myrrh;
come, peasant, king, to own him;
The King of kings salvation brings,
let loving hearts enthrone him.
Raise, raise the song on high,
the virgin sings her lullaby:
Joy, joy for Christ is born,
the babe, the son of Mary.

Sermon: A Glorious Announcement
Worshiping God by Singing
Joy to the World
Joy to the world! The Lord is come:
let earth receive her King;
let every heart prepare him room,
and heaven and nature sing,
and heaven and nature sing.
and heaven and heaven and nature sing
Joy to the earth! The Savior reigns;
let men their songs employ;
while fields and floods, rocks, hills, and plains
repeat the sounding joy,
repeat the sounding joy,
repeat, repeat the sounding joy.
No more let sins and sorrows grow,
nor thorns infest the ground;
he comes to make his blessings flow
far as the curse is found,
far as the curse is found,
far as, far as the curse is found.
He rules the world with truth and grace,
and makes the nations prove
the glories of his righteousness
and wonders of His love,
and wonders of His love,
and wonders, wonders of His love
