Call to Worship

Psalm 103:1-4(ESV)

Bless the LORD, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless his holy name!  Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits,  who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases, who redeems your life from the pit, who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy.

Thy Mercy, My God

Thy mercy, my God, is the theme of my song

The joy of my heart and the boast of my tongue

Thy free grace alone from the first to the last

Hath won my affections and bound my soul fast.

Without Thy sweet mercy I could not live here

Sin soon would reduce me to utter despair

But through Thy free goodness my spirits revive

And He that first made me still keeps me alive.

Thy mercy is more than a match for my heart,

Which wonders to feel its own hardness depart;

Dissolved by Thy goodness I fall to the ground

And weep to the praise of the mercy I’ve found.

Great Father of mercies, Thy goodness I own,

And the covenant love of Thy crucified Son;

All praise to the Spirit, Whose whisper divine

Seals mercy and pardon and righteousness mine!

Worshiping God by Confessing Our Faith

   Ephesians 1:3-10 (ESV)

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved.  In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.

Salvation Belongs to Our god

 Salvation belongs to our God, who sits upon the throne
And unto the Lamb, praise and glory, wisdom, and thanks
Honor and power and strength

 Be to our God forever and ever
Be to our God forever and ever
Be to our God forever and ever, Amen

 And we, the redeemed, shall be strong in purpose and unity
Declaring aloud,

Praise and glory, wisdom, and thanks
Honor and power and strength

 Be to our God forever and ever
Be to our God forever and ever
Be to our God forever and ever, Amen

Praise and glory, wisdom, and thanks
Honor and power and strength

 Be to our God forever and ever
Be to our God forever and ever
Be to our God forever and ever, Amen

Worshiping God by Hearing His Word

John 17:20-23(ESV)

Series: Unity: Out of Many, One

Sermon: Unity is Us

"I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.

Unity among God’s people is one of the ____________ ____________ of Jesus.

His prayer is that we would be ___________ as he and the Father are ___________.

Since Jesus prayed this way, we can be assured that unity is not only ___________, it will ___________ be a ___________.

This means we can be ___________ and ___________ in our pursuit of unity.

We also need to remember that unity among Christians is a ___________ to the ___________ of the truth of the good news of Christ.

So let’s ___________ ___________ the unity Jesus prayed for and so ___________ to those around us the reality of God’s saving power in Christ.

The Church's One Foundation

The church’s one foundation, is Jesus Christ her Lord,

she is his new creation by water and the Word.

From heaven he came and sought her to be his holy bride;

with his own blood he bought her, and for her life he died.

Elect from every nation, yet one over all the earth;

her charter of salvation, one Lord, one faith, on birth;

One holy name she blesses; partakes one holy food,

and to one hope she presses, with every grace endued.

Though with a scornful wonder men see her sore oppressed,

by schisms rent asunder, by heresies distressed,
Yet saints their watch are keeping; their cry goes up, “how long?”

and soon the night of weeping shall be the morn of song.

The church shall never perish, her dear Lord to defend
to guide, sustain and cherish, is with her to the end.

Though there be those that hate her, and false sons in her pale,

against a foe or traitor, she ever shall prevail.

Mid toil and tribulation, and tumult of her war,
she waits the consummation of peace forevermore;

‘Til, with the vision glorious, her longing eyes are blessed,

and the great church victorious shall be the church at rest.

Yet she on earth hath union with God the Three in One,

and mystic sweet communion with those whose rest is won.

O happy ones and holy! Lord, give us grace that we
like them, the meek and lowly, on high may dwell with thee.
